The name

Tacid, pronounced TASS-id

It is never spelled “Tacit”. The two words look close enough that the wrong one gets typed by accident, so the project says this often and says it plainly.

Every name in the system is one word, lowercase, and says what runs it.

Trademark

“Tacid” and “TacidOS” are trademarks of the maintainer. The code is Apache-2.0 and the documentation is CC-BY-4.0, so a fork is welcome — it must simply carry a different name, so that nobody installs something believing it came from here.
